How This Techno Rumble Sample Pack Was Made:

I wanted to do something different from the standard 808 kick drum packs you get. This sample pack is made entirely of Roland tr808 kick drums. However they are heavily processed for use in techno, with lots of distortion. Also every kick has a rumble sample too, which is a sub bass made from reverbing, distortion and filtering the kick drum to get this sub bass that is made from the kick and complements it, causing a pumping low end.

I know the 808 is really booming as it is and suited to hip hop, electro and trap, but I wanted to show that it can be relevant in modern techno. The kick drums are made in hardware and then processed with in the box reverb and distortion chains. You can get some of the processing chains I used for free here: Techno Rumble Kick Ableton Rack.
