Welcome to our techno LinnDrum sample pack. The revered LinnDrum was made in the early 1980s (without midi) and has found it’s way on to hundred or tracks, used by all sorts of producers including Daft Punk, Prince, and Giorgio Moroder, and even Stevie Wonder.
I love the LinnDrum, but find myself beefing up the low end when using it in my own productions. So here I’ve processed the kick drum to have a bit more bottom end, and made separate reverb rumble subs for both the kick and the low tom so you’ve got in-tune sub basses too.

Here I’ve sampled hits off a LinnDrum and processed each one for more grit/distortion and saturation, they are driven fairly heavily. Also I’ve mixed the kicks so they are heavier on the low end. And I made rumble subs for the kicks and the toms, so you can make a beat with a heavy sub in that’s in tune with drums. You can layer the kick or tom samples with their respective subs for a huge hit or use them individually.
I love this kits for raw jacking house beats, and techno drums that really cut through the mix. I know it’s not what the LinnDrum is often used for but for me it’s a massively underused drum machine in techno, it sounds great distorted and saturated for some crunch! Especially here with the sub rumbles, it’s the perfect machine for jacking raw beats.
