Welcome to our pumping techno rumble kick rack, made in Ableton 12 with Ableton’s Operator to make the kick and three Roar Distortion Units to process the kick and give it a pumping, delayed rumble too. It has no delay units, everything is process with 3 Roar distortion units, one to distort the kick, one to add the rumbles with delay and feedback and filter ,and a final one to distort the kick and rumble together.
You can hear the rack in action here (you might need headphones as it is just kick and subs):

Pumping Techno Rumble Kick Ableton Rack
(you can download the rack in the downloads section below.)
First of all the patch has an Ableton Operator Unit that generated the kick with some fm and pitch modulation. Then there are 3 roar units: the first one distorts the kick by splitting it into 3 frequency bands and distorting the lows, mids and highs separately. The second roar creates a pumping sub bass by delaying the signal with the feedback unit, while filtering it down too. Then the last unit distorts everything and adds modulations to the distortion that pump rhythmically using the envelope follower.

Techno Rumble Kick Macro Controls
(you can download the rack in the downloads section below.)
I mapped the most important controls to the macros at the front, this is what they do:
Time – this makes every envelope in Operator shorter or longer at the same time, which can shorten or elongate the kick.
Early Drive – the input Drive on the first roar.
Mid Freq Shaper – adds a mid frequency boost in the first Roar unit to give the kick a distorted body.
High End Click – adds a high end click transient to the kick by using the High band of the first roar unit.
Rumble Body – adds saturation to the second roar unit, which has rhythmically synched delays to add a delay rumble pulsating sub bass under the kick.
Rumble Fdbck – the amount of delay feedback.
Rumble Mix – the wet/dry mix of the second roar unit, which functions a volume mix for the pulsating sub bass layer.
Roar 3 Shaper – distorts both the kick and the rumble together for a really industrial sound.
Roar 3 Pump – this affects the global effect amount, so it pushed both effects in the modulation matrix (drive and shaper 1 level) to the envelope follower, which creates a pulsating distortion on each kick drum.
Roar 3 Mix – the wet/dry mix of the last roar distortion unit and it’s pumping industrial effect.
